The Long Road To Nowhere

If you love Southern Gospel music, you will be very pleased with this book. It asks you simply, “Why do you do what you do?” That seems like a simple question to answer, but it really isn’t. In a conversation taking place on a lonely park bench, Mark finds himself trying to explain his answer… an answer that takes the reader down a winding road while touching upon the events that shaped Mark’s life as a writer through the avenue of Southern Gospel Music. The reader finds suddenly that they too have experienced the loneliness and hardship of their own personal experiences in their field or trade. They soon learn how hard work and perseverance can change someone’s life forever. Events unfold that alter Mark’s path and leave their imprint upon the hearts of the reader as well.

In the end, the reader finds out that when they get what they are searching for in life, it is not always what it seems; what they really receive is so much more valuable! The book is filled with pictures of people you will probably recognize and truly written from the heart. It even contains a few pictures taken from Mark’s personal collections of Songwriting Seminars held with four of Southern Gospel Music’s finest writers: Mr. Gerald Crabb, Ms. Dianne Wilkinson, the legendary Dove and Grammy-award winning writer Ms. Dottie Rambo, and of course Mark Jones himself.
